Watched Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows with my friend at Sunway Pyramid last week.
Here's the trailer:
Cast: Robert Downey, Jr. as Sherlock Holmes and Jude Law as Dr John Watson. Here's their website for reference :
I'm pretty sure almost everyone knows who Sherlock Holmes is. For those who don't, he's a fictional detective created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
Reminds me of "Detective Conan" ; An anime about detective stories written and illustrated by Gosho Aoyama. After all, 'Conan" was based on the name of the creator of Sherlock Holmes. If you watch the anime, you'll know why.
Back to the movie, it's about how Sherlock and his colleague/ friend, Dr Watson deal with the criminal mastermind- Professor Moriarty, someone who is at the same intelligence level as him or perhaps, even higher...
Basically, they need to stop all his evil plans... bla bla.. u know, that kind of story when 'the good' fights 'the bad', 'the bad' seems to win but in the end, 'the good' still wins..
Actually, I was more interested in the relationship between Sherlock and Watson.. wait...Stop that look on your face.. They are not gay, don't get me wrong..
To me, they are like Tom and Jerry where, they constantly argue but can't seem to live without each other. I like the way they tease each other sarcastically. But actually, they do care for each other and even risk their lives to save the other in danger...
Ok. I guess if I don't stop, I may drag on and on.. Now let the PICTURES do the talking :)
Some of the MEMORABLE moments and quotes:
Sherlock: [disguised as a Chinese man] Three men have been following you for the last half mile. Their motives... highly unsavoury.
Irene: No...
Oh, and by the way, they're not pursuing me, they're escorting me & instead of three, there seem to be... four.
Sherlock: Steady
hands with that, Irene.
Irene: Oh, I don't think it's my hands you have to worry about.
Now, be careful with the face boys. We do have a dinner date tonight. Don't
fill up on bread.
Meeting between Moriarty and Irene- He poisons her as he presumes that her job is compromised by her love for Holmes
Watson: [as
he watches Sherlock drinking Formaldehyde] You're drinking embalming
fluid?
Sherlock: [exhales] Yes. Care for a drop?
Watson: You do seem...
Sherlock:
Excited?
Watson:Manic.
Sherlock: I am.
Watson:Verging on...
Sherlock: Ecstatic?
Watson:
Psychotic. [pauses] I should've brought you a sedative.
Watson: Better to be married than to die alone.
Sherlock: Okay so you'll
be getting married and having a family while... I will die alone.
Sherlock: I
must admit that it is not my best disguise.
Sherlock:
Lie with me, Watson.
Watson: What
are we doing down here?
Sherlock:
We are waiting. I am smoking.
Sherlock:
Don't be rude to
the woman who's invited us inside her tent... for hedgehog.
Watson: Says the man who throws women off trains.
I'm envious of their friendship, although it's just fictional.. They seem to complete what each other is lacking. One cannot survive without the other.. I believe there is this kind of relationship out there in the real world, right? Will I be able to find one like that too? Some day, I hope I will..
Friendship is composed of a single soul inhabiting two bodies
